The Award has been established to honor inspirational people, businesses and organizations which promote human development and prosperity of Latvian people. This time of the year we'd like to share kindness and joy by helping ones in need and, particularly, children of Latvian Foster Family Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija's Care Mobile and SOS Children's Villages in Latvia.

The true spirit of Christmas is a spirit of giving. AmCham kicked off the holiday season with its Annual Christmas party and charity raffle. This year together we have raised EUR 1800 for our principal charities: Latvian Foster Family Association, RMHC Latvija's Care Mobile and SOS Children's Villages in Latvia. As a result many children in Latvia will be able to receive free healthcare services and a family-based support.

From 21 to 23 December "Christmas caravan" was touring Latvian cities, which was a joint charity project of the Latvian Olympic Committee and Coca-Cola HBC Latvia that inspired everyone to turn to an active lifestyle, to prepare sports equipment and to create better conditions for physical activities in schools.

You can warm children's hearts by donating to families of SOS Children's Villages. The goal of donation campaign "Warm child's heart!" is to collect funds for 140 families of SOS Children's Villages families.

By tradition in November, McDonald's was celebrating McHappy Day, a nationwide fundraising event. This year EUR 21,877 were raised for the Care Mobile program which will ensure 875 free medical exams for Latvia's children. Throughout the year McDonald's donates 2 Euro cents from each Happy Meal to Care Mobile.

KPMG Baltics continues its charity work for the Rauda Boarding School for children with special needs for the third consecutive year. During Christmas time employees of KPMG brought joy to children by creating stylized Christmas tree and preparing personal gifts.

Cemex has announced that its operations in Latvia earned prestigious Golden Helmet Award for their outstanding health and safety practices and Green Excellence Award for taking care of environmental protection on the highest level.

For the 11th year in a row, Nordea supports the "Lejasstrazdi" Family Support Center. This year Nordea and photographer Andrejs Zavadskis invite you to a holiday photo exhibition at "Kolonade" etitled "Contrasts. Nature and Urban Environments. The Other Beauty." The exhibition features double exposure photography. It will be open to the public until December 30.

Neptune Day brought a lot of joy to more than 160 children and was organized by Balans International Wellness Center for the 8th year in a row.

Recently, JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra received the award of State Environmental Service "Green Excellence Award" as one of the Latvian companies, which takes care of environmental protection on the highest level and also on its own initiative carried out a set of measures to reduce the environmental impact.

On November 24, 2015, Coca-Cola HBC announced new water and carbon commitments after being named as the world sustainability leader in the beverage industry by Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. Coca-Cola HBC intends to reduce water use intensity by 30% by 2020, and direct carbon emissions intensity by 50% over the same period.

Coca-Cola HBC Latvia received an acknowledgement for the company's practice in reducing risks in the workplace "Golden Helmet" and received a recognition in the annual Swedish Business Award 2015.
