Ways to help during the COVID-19 Pandemic
During this emergency situation due to COVID-19 pandemic Latvian doctors and emergency services are working long hours. There are various charity campaigns to support medical professionals and police officers either by donation or providing in-kind support during this hard time: Ziedot.lv,Latvijas Ārstu biedrība, Hospiss LV, Crisis and Counselling Center Skalbes and #paliecmājās.

EU cooperation and solidarity to tackle COVID-19
The efforts of the EU and its Member States were critical for the European response to the COVID-19 crisis. An unprecedented challenge calls for an unprecedented response, and with the health, social and economic measures taken, the EU rose to the occasion. AmCham EU calls on the EU to continue its efforts to mitigate the economic impact with Solidarity, Single Market, and international cooperation.

BITE provides free services to medial staff
In order to facilitate the work of medical staff during this crisis, BITE Latvija provides free communication services to its business clients - hospital and general practitioner practitioners for three months. In addition, BITE Latvija provided 3000 smart devices to school children in Latvia who are not able to continue their schooling remotely from home.

Exonicus helps hacking the virus
Exonicus team has developed a computer and smart-device simulation program that provides training to medical personnel caring for COVID-19 patients. The next step is to deliver the software to Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians International Board, and the World Health Organization . In addition, the program has received a donation from the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation. Read more

Mikrotikls donates €10 000 to Children's Hospital
The Children's Hospital Foundation has received a donation of 10,000 euros from Latvian IT company known for its wireless routers - Mikrotikls. It will help to improve the safety of small patients in areas where special precautions are currently needed - Intensive therapy, Neonatology intensive therapy and Hemato-oncology departments.

On April 6, Hilton and American Express announced that the companies, in partnership with Hilton's ownership community, will donate up to 1 million hotel room nights across the United States to frontline medical professionals leading the fight against COVID-19.
