AmCham held its 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 11th to review the past year’s activities, elect the Board of Directors and make other important decisions. It was the second AmCham AGM to be held remotely via Zoom platform due to the public health guidance.
John L. Carwile, U.S. Ambassador to Latvia opened the meeting with remarks, stressing the importance of AmCham's advocacy activities and the close cooperation between the Embassy and AmCham in the last year.
AmCham President Zinta Jansons and Vice Presidents Liene Dubava, Roberts Melbardis, Pauls Miklasevics and Ieva Racenaja outlined the Chamber’s accomplishments over the past year and introduced policy priorities among which will be enhancing trade and investment and continuously raising awareness of economic opportunities between Latvia and the U.S., improving the investment and business climate in Latvia, getting prepared for the future of work and improving health outcomes of Latvia’s society.
The following individuals were elected to the Board to serve a term of two years:
Liene Dubava, Dita Erna Sile, Renate Strazdina, John Martin Tully and Liga Smildzina-Bertulsone will continue to serve on the Board.
Members also elected auditor Rodl & Partners for 2021 and the Election Committee for one year.
