How safe is Latvia in cyberspace?

Apr 16, 2014
On April 16 AmCham together with SSE Riga and DPA held an Outlook seminar to discuss cyber security issues impacting companies large and small. Addressed were questions how safe one can feel in today’s virtual reality and what can be done to minimize the risks of potential damages.

Joining the debate were the following experts:
•    Janis Sarts, State Secretary, Ministry of Defense; Chairman of the National IT Security Council
•    Dejan Cvetkovic, Regional Technology Officer, Microsoft Central and East Europe
•    Cyber Agent, FBI
•    Aigars Jaundālders, Head of Startup Business Group at DPA

The event was aimed at leaders and executives from all business and government sectors about the importance of cyber security within their organizations. In a lively and informative discussion, guests were able to exchange their experiences and ask questions to the experts.

-    Lessons learned of cyber warfare;
-    Communication is of great importance;
-    Collaboration is key in ensuring security;
-    Cyber defense policy should be grounded in a holistic strategy including people, processes and technology;
