On July 15 AmCham board members and Ambassador to Latvia in the United States Mr. Razans met at the terrace of Dome Hotel & SPA to discuss the US-Latvia business relations and ways to strengthen them.
AmCham board and Ambassador Razans discussed the major benefits that are important for the US investors who are willing to invest in Latvia. Transparency, predictability, corporate governance and social responsibility are the main preconditions of interest to entrepreneurs. The Ambassador emphasized that Latvia also can be a start-up platform for US entrepreneurs interested in entering the Russian market. Among other benefits were mentioned availability of medical services and affordable higher education that Latvia can offer to US citizens.
Latvia is an attractive place for providing shared services thanks to the talent pool with multi-language and high-level technical skills.
Ambassador stressed that while Latvia has strong ties with the US in general, it is necessary to strengthen and enhance the US-Latvia business relations. He also suggested to organize regular business missions to various US states to meet with the Chambers of Commerce and Honorary consuls.
