This year Bulgaria hosted the Three Seas Initiative (3Si) Summit and Business Forum on July 8- 9 in Sofia.
The aim of the Three Seas Initiative is to promote direct cooperation for implementation of 3Si transport, energy and digital networks projects.
Latvia is set to host the next Three Seas Initiative Summit in Riga in 2022.
On July 8 at the Three Seas Summit in Sofia, ten AmChams from the countries of the 3Si signed a joint declaration to express their support for better infrastructure, diversified and secure energy sources and fast digitalization and innovation. The Summit and Business Forum in Bulgaria was attended by a group of AmChams in Europe representatives, including Ajsa Vodnik, CEO of AmCham Slovenia, Tony Housh, President of AmCham Poland, Maja Filipcheva, President of Amcham North Macedonia and Jordan Dimitrovski, Board Member of AmCham North Macedonia. AmCham Bulgaria was represented by its CEO Petar Ivanov who moderated the Digitalization panel at the Business forum.
The initiative is designed to promote cooperation between 12 European nations and their partners contributing to economic growth and energy security, as well as to boost cohesion and unity in Europe. The Three Seas Initiative includes the countries located between the Adriatic, the Baltic and the Black Seas: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
