On April 20, members and guests enjoyed the first luncheon of 2022 with Kaspars Rozkalns, Director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia who spoke on sustainable innovations, investment results of 2021 and the U.S. investmens in Latvia. He also touched upon the recent events such as Spotlight Latvia and Trade Mission to San Francisco and Los Angeles, opening of the LIAA representative office in Boston and upcoming 3SI Business Forum. Fredis Bikovs, new Managing Director of Riga Investment and Tourism Agency joined the question and answer session along with Mr. Rozkalns.
Mr. Rozkalns invited members to cooperate with LIAA by strengthening the presence of U.S. companies in Latvia, welcoming new GBS companies serving the U.S. and global markets from Latvia, building ICT competence centers in Latvia developing AI, Edtech and Fintech technologies, facilitating healthy US investment inflow and support US investor plans to expand business.
He also urged to cooperate in accelerating the development of the RIS3 ecosystem, untapping opportunities in Pharma and Medtech, Latvian academia and science available to boost commercialization as well as technology transfer between universities and scientific institutes.
He initiated to support the cooperation between businesses in Latvia and the U.S. by identifing and connecting with potential cooperation partners and helping to attract speakers and participants to business forums organized by the LIAA.
AmCham works hard to accomplish its goals and is a voice in the business community that is heard.
