Insights on digital innovation and entrepreneurship

On May 25, AmCham Latvia in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) organized a panel discussion and networking event within the framework of the Wharton global master class “Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Baltics”. The panel discussion was joined by several AmCham members: Liga Paulina, CEO of Dynatech, Toms Kalderovskis, Head of Development at SAF Tehnika and Kristaps Krafte, Founder and CEO of Vigo Health. In addition to AmCham members the panel was joined by Ivars Sudmalis, Matchmaker and Co-founder at PrintOnPack.com.

The panel discussion was moderated by Tyler Wry, Associate Professor of Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The panel discussion was followed by a great networking during which MBA & EMBA students of the Wharton School and the University of Tartu Delta Management School had an opportinuty to learn more from business leaders on the business environment and innovation landscape in the Baltics.

The Wharton School in partnership with the University of Tartu Delta Management School and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga is holding a global master class “Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Baltics”, in 3 cities - Riga, Tartu and Tallinn from May 25-31 2022. EMBA & MBA students from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, University of Tartu Delta Management School and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga will meet with government and business leaders, idea generators and leaders who create a supportive environment for innovation and will gain insight into the startup supporting ecosystems in these nations.

Tyler Wry, Asociate Professor of Management, the Wharton School
Professor Tyler Wry studies hybrid ventures, which are organizations that combine related, but potentially contradictory aims in their core, focusing on how hybrids emerge, attract resources, and positively affect society. He serves on the Editorial Boards of Administrative Science Quarterly, the Academy of Management Journal and the Academy of Management Review.

Ivars Sudmalis – Matchmaker, Co-founder at PrintOnPack.com 
PrintOnPack.com‘s platform makes it possible to search for sustainable packaging materials, such as recycled or biodegradable packaging. It has onboarded over 120+ soft packaging providers to give consumers transparent information about where they can produce and for what prices, and receive offers without picking up the phone. 

Toms Kalderovskis, Head of Development at SAF Tehnika 
SAF Tehnika is a Latvian designer, producer and distributor of digital Microwave Data transmission equipment. SAF Tehnika products provide wireless backhaul solutions for digital voice and data transmission to mobile and fixed network operators, data service providers, governments and private companies. They have developed a large network of authorized partners and sales representatives all over the globe, most notable being the opening of SAF Tehnika North America office and warehouse facilities in Denver.

Kristaps Krafte, Founder and CEO of a healthcare start-up Vigo Health Vigo is a post-stroke therapy program where the user is in control. Since founding the start-up in 2018, Vigo has evolved from an idea to an app obtaining CE marking accessible to patients. It has been developed collaboratively with leading Latvian and international rehabilitation institutions and specialists.

Dynatech is the hub of competencies and operations for America based international Company DYNINNO Group. Dynatech provides IT, marketing, operations, and administrative products and services for three main areas inside DYNINNO Group: travel, finance, and entertainment.
