Jul 26
US Ambassador's Residence

On July 26, Christopher Robinson, US Ambassador to Latvia together with AmCham Latvia hosted a networking reception to welcome California state delegation to Riga. California State Treasurer Fiona Ma and California Senator Josh Newman led the delegation of representatives of California State Senate as well as US companies from the energy, finance, private equity, robotics and other industries seeking partnerships in support of Latvian and broader EU market entry.

U.S. Ambassador Christopher Robinson, AmCham Vice-President Guntars Krols, Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braze and California State Treasurer Fiona Ma kicked off the reception with greetings and opening remarks.

The economy of the State of California is the largest in the US and the 5th largest sub-national economy in the world. Treasurer Ma and Senator Newman are leading a delegation to Riga to develop a Trade and Investment Cooperation Platform to increase long-term economic cooperation between Latvia and California. The Platform will foster increased bilateral institutional and private equity investment, build bridges between regional economic development entities, and support B2B matchmaking in support of market-entry and expansion for Latvian and Californian small-to-medium sized enterprises.
