AmCham is a place to meet representatives of other industries and understand the business environment.

The Board of Directors of AmCham has elected John Martin Tully, CEO of MikroTik as the Chairman of the Board and President of AmCham. He replaces Zinta Jansons who has announced her willingness to look for new professional challenges as she has left Ellex Klavins and, consecutively, the AmCham Board earlier this month. Sarmis Spilbergs, Associate Partner of Ellex Klavins, has been appointed to the Board by the Nominating Committee at the end of September.
We warmly welcome both John as our new President and Sarmis as a Board member!
"AmCham has a strong history of working to improve the investment climate in Latvia. It is with great excitement and honor that I take on this position to continue promoting stronger U.S.- Latvia ties and working with AmCham members to ensure Latvia is a trusted destination for international business", says John.
John joined the AmCham Board in 2020. He has been working in IT in Latvia since the mid-1990s and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of MikroTik, a network equipment manufacturer.
Sarmis assumes the position of the Board Member to serve the remainder of Zinta's term until March 2022. Sarmis is an Associate Partner and Head of Technology, Media and Communications practice at Ellex in Latvia. He has advised clients in various fields including information technology, e-commerce, consumer rights, data protection, pharmacy regulation and licensing of various business activities as well as general corporate advice.
Upon assuming his position Sarmis says: “I am honored to join the AmCham board of directors as its newest member. In my professional career I have always focused on helping innovative businesses thrive and succeed while navigating through challenging legal environments. I look forward to contributing my expertise to AmCham initiatives in health and technology sectors to develop a sustainable, growth oriented, business environment in Latvia, that fosters innovation and foreign investment.”
On behalf of the AmCham Board and all members we extend a sincere appreciation to Zinta for her leadership and dedicated service over the course of last 5 years on the Board and 2 years in the President’s position!
I would highly recommend membership to other professionals looking to expand their business connections.
