American Councils become a member

May 15

The American Councils office in Latvia was established in September 2015. It is located in the city center, at Marijas street 2a, Novira Plaza office building. Although it is relatively small, the office is actively involved in administering various programs such as FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange Program), EducationUSA Latvia, Open World program, OPIT (Overseas Professional and Intercultural Training), Title VIII (Research Scholar Program) and Lehigh Internship program.

In addition, we have a group of dedicated FLEX Alumni who actively implement and develop various social projects, as well as share their experience and knowledge with others. The Riga office works closely with the U.S. Embassy in Riga and has established strong partnerships with other vital stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education, American Corners, and local community organizations and associations across the country.
American Councils believes that international education should be accessible for all. That is why our focus is to advance scholarly research and cross-border learning through the design and implementation of educational programs grounded in key world languages, cultures, and regions.

Through international training, cultural exchange, immersion learning, and public diplomacy, American Councils broadens individual perspectives and fosters personal and intellectual growth. On a grand scale, these efforts strengthen international and national security, build prosperity, and promote peace.

In AmCham American Councils are represented by Laura Lucaua, Country representative.
