Annemarija Linaresa is a Latvian-American physician, lawyer, and healthcare executive with deep leadership experience in accountable care, value based payment models, home based primary care, palliative care and hospice. She relocated to Riga from the U.S. in December 2022 and has recently joined the Chamber as an Individual member.
Annemarija's goal is to develop a home-based continuum of care in Latvia for people with serious or chronic illness starting with home based primary care through palliative care, hospice, and final bereavement support.
Annemarija is also interested in bringing novel healthcare reimbursement models to Latvia which would align stakeholder incentives, create greater market efficiency, reduce healthcare costs, improve healthcare outcomes, improve patient satisfaction, and create a sustainable healthcare system in Latvia to rival other EU countries.
Annemarija holds an M.D. from the University of Michigan and is double Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She is also a certified Hospice Medical Director. Annemarija holds a J.D. from Wayne State University and is currently studying towards an Executive M.B.A. at Quantic School of Business and Technology in Washington, D.C.
Before relocating to Riga, Annemarija was Chief Medical Officer at U.S. Medical Management. At U.S. Medical Management, Annemarija transitioned a 200+ provider group from a fee for service model to a value based global risk model achieving 30% reduction in risk-adjusted Emergency Department and hospital use, cost savings of 26M+ above annual benchmark. The company was recently purchased by a group of investors and rebranded as Harmony Cares.
