I look forward to promoting stronger U.S.-Latvia ties and working with AmCham members to ensure Latvia is a trusted destination for international business.

ATU Duty Free in cooperation with Omniva introduces an innovative service – purchases at the airport can be shipped to any parcel machine in the Baltic states
Starting from 4th of October, everyone who shops at ATU Duty Free stores of the Riga airport departure zone, will be able to use an innovative service – to ship the purchase to any selected Omniva parcel machine in any of the Baltic states, said the company’s head in Latvia Tamer Cigeroglu.
The service in Riga International Airport is available for those Baltic travellers who are going to destinations in European Union.
Cigeroglu underscored that a decision has been made to introduce such a service after analyzing the new shopping habits, affected both by the post-pandemics and the different approaches formed with the participation of Generation Z.
“Today shopping is not just about the product we purchase. In the new era, customers are buying the shopping experience and personalized services stand out. In this scope, as part of our Shop & Collect service, we offer our customers a privileged service with a partial delivery option. After shopping in our duty-free stores, the products they purchase are sent to the pick-up points closest to their homes so that they do not have to carry the products with them during their travels,” said Cigeroglu.
He also explained, that, in addition, the products can be safely stored at the delivery points for up to one week. This also provides a significant comfort to passengers in terms of the restrictions on the products purchased in accordance with customs regulations, and they can do their shopping at the airport and fly to the country they are traveling to without being subject to certain limits. The purchased products are transferred to the pick-up points.
“We are pleased to realize a satisfying cooperation with Omniva to make our customers' shopping experience valuable,’’ he added.
This delivery service to any selected parcel machine in Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia will be available to any product purchased at ATU Duty Free store. Delivery within Latvia will cost EUR 2.99 and to other Baltic states – EUR 5.34. Omniva will store the parcel in the parcel machine for seven days, starting from the delivery day.
International airport Riga is the first airport in the Baltic states, offering such a service to its customers.
I would highly recommend membership to other professionals looking to expand their business connections.
