Christmas Bazaar raises €41 000

Nov 25, 2019
The International Women's Club of Riga (IWCR) hosted the 23rd IWCR Charity Bazaar on November 24th at the wonderful venue - Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija Conference & SPA Hotel. This year almost EUR 41.000 were raised, which is an impressive amount!

It was a fabulous event with many visitors discovering gifts, hand-made souvenirs, toys and traditional presents from more than 35 countries. It wouldn't be a Christmas Bazaar without carol singing, silent auction, tombola and kids play corner.

The Charity Bazaar is held by the International Women's Club of Riga, and supported by foreign ambassadors with their families, and a strong international community. It presents a cross-national cultural experience, and an opportunity to taste typical food and drinks, as well as purchase original gifts for friends and family - handicrafts, toys, handmade items, delicacies from all around the world- a perfect choice for Christmas Shopping.

All the funds raised at the Bazaar will be directed to charity projects in Latvia, with special attention to low-income families, young single mothers, children in need, the elderly, and victims of violence.

The event was already generously sponsored by many embassies and diplomatic missions as well as AmCham members: Hotel Bergs, Grand Palace Hotel, International School of Latvia, International School of Riga, Pullman Riga Old Town, Radisson Blu Elizabete Hotel,  Radisson Blu Ridzene Hotel, Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & SPA Hotel and The Baltic Times.

I look forward to promoting stronger U.S.-Latvia ties and working with AmCham members to ensure Latvia is a trusted destination for international business.
