COBALT awarded Baltic-wide Law Firm of 2022

Apr 22, 2022

On April 22, COBALT was named Baltic-wide Law Firm of the Year at the 2022 Chambers Europe Awards ceremony.

The awards recognize a law firm’s pre-eminence in key jurisdictions in Europe. They also reflect achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

“Behind every recognition, award, deal or assignment, there are deeds and people, and in our case, it is the excellent, knowledgeable and talented COBALT team. They are bright individuals who are willing to push their boundaries and go the extra mile just to deliver the best possible result for our clients. It is great to be part of such a team and to celebrate our joint achievements,” comments Dace Silava–Tomsone, COBALT Managing Partner in Riga.

2021 has been a very active and successful year. COBALT advised:

  • A leading buyout investor Mid Europa Partners on the acquisition of leading Baltics e-commerce platforms Pigu and Hobby Hall Group
  • Swedbank regarding the public offering of shares of AS Tallink Grupp in Estonia and Finland (in the form of Finnish share depositary receipts)
  • The shareholders of AB Kauno grūdai group companies, one of the leading agribusiness groups in Lithuania on selling shares to AB Linas Agro Group
  • European Investment Bank and Nordic Investment Bank on signing a 21-year loan agreement of EUR 122.2 million for the Kekava Bypass road project, which is to become the first major private-public partnership project in Latvia and the first large-scale PPP in the Baltics
