Riga Toastmasters Succeed at the District 95 Conference

Nov 30, 2016
Davis Golds from Riga Toastmasters competed in the semi-finals and finals at the District 95 Conference in Warsaw at the end of November. He won the Humorous speech contest against a competition from 17 European countries and became the first District champion from the Baltic states. It is a great day for the Riga club and it will serve as an example to other club members to become the best they can be.

During Riga Toastmasters meetings members have the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills in a mutually supportive and positive learning environment that fosters self-confidence and personal growth.

A Toastmasters meeting is a "learning-by-doing workshop", there are no instructors at Toastmasters meetings. Instead, members evaluate one another's presentations and offer suggestions for improvement. This feedback process is a key part of the program's success.

Businesses around the world need strong leaders and communicators to succeed in the global economy. Toastmasters offers an affordable, consistent program to help employees grow. Involvement in Toastmasters boosts employees' morale, increases productivity, develops leaders, improves professional communication, encourages teamwork and collaboration, and provides a low-cost solution for employee skill-building.
