This year, Luminor Bank is donating EUR 12,000 to “Dod pieci!” (High Five!), inviting the whole community to join in and help their fellow human beings who are in real need. The funds donated during the charity marathon will be directed to people with visual, hearing or mobility impairments – for the installation of ramps and lifts, the improvement of people’s homes and satisfying other needs related to improving the accessibility of the environment outside public infrastructure.
“These are difficult times – the current situation continues to cause difficulties and often traps us in our homes for long periods of time, cutting us off from society. But it is even harder for those who spend most of their lives in such restrictive conditions and are denied the chance to live independent, stable lives. Unfortunately, people with functional disabilities have not received enough attention in our society, which is why we, Luminor, are joining this year’s “Dod pieci!” charity marathon to give a helping hand. This year, the pandemic once again prevents us from actively celebrating Christmas, so we would like to redirect the funds earmarked for customer and partner gifts to support the charity marathon. We invite everyone, including businesses, not to remain indifferent and to take part in this charity project, making the lives of their fellow human beings more complete,” says Kerli Gabrilovica, Head of Retail Banking of Luminor.
This is not the first year that Luminor Bank has supported the “Dod pieci!” charity marathon. Similarly to this year, last year the Bank gave the EUR 12,000 it had earmarked for festive greetings for its customers and partners to the charity marathon organized to raise funds to support people in abusive relationships. In 2018, a contribution was made to help highlight the prerequisites for raising happy children in today’s society.
Starting from December 2, the bank invites you to donate at least €5, choosing a song to play on www.dodpieci.lv. As usual, the songs will be played on Latvijas Radio 5 and on pieci.lv during the charity marathon. From December 17 to 23, cash and non-cash donations can also be made at the charity marathon glass studio in Riga Old Town, Dome Square. You can also donate outside Riga – at all Circle K gas stations.
I would highly recommend membership to other professionals looking to expand their business connections.
