Celebrating the champions of change

The Baltic Sustainability Awards 2024 celebrated the innovative spirit and dedication of the region's green pioneers. This year’s event, held on November 26–27 brought together thought leaders, trailblazing companies, and groundbreaking startups. From innovative solutions in CO2 capture to eco-friendly urban development projects, the winners exemplify how sustainability can drive both environmental and economic progress. The event emphasized regional collaboration and scalability for sustainable initiatives, with 188 applications evaluated by an esteemed jury of 84 international experts. Read more

Zero Tolerance Against Corruption

On October 24 the conference "Zero Tolerance Against Corruption" was held in Riga co-hosted by our members TI Latvia Delna and CSR Latvia, to advance the fight against corruption and promote responsible business practices. The event brought together business leaders and experts to discuss responsible business practices and the fight against corruption. The Zero Tolerance Against Corruption initiative aims to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in both the public and private sectors. Read more

Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga has achieved Silver Certification through EarthCheck, the world’s leading business advisory group specializing in sustainability and destination management for the travel and tourism industry. “The EarthCheck Silver Certification validates our initiatives aimed at minimizing waste, conserving water, enhancing energy efficiency and giving back to the community”, says their GM. Latvian Education Accelerator will present first year results

The Latvian Education Accelerator, established last year, invites members to join a presentation to highlight the progress of its activities on January 17 at the Swedbank Head office. The event will showcase the results of the survey on the future career of high-school students. The Latvian Education Accelerator is an initiative by the World Economic Forum, in Latvia coordinated by our member ERDA with the strategic vision put forward by Co-Chairs – Minister of Education and Science, Minister of Economics, Chairman of the Board of Swedbank Latvia and Managing Director of Accenture Baltics. Bite Group pledges €1 million to empower paralympic athletes
|
|
Bite Group continues its commitment to making a positive impact in Latvia. In 2024, Bite Latvia and TV3 Group Latvia became the General Partners of the Latvian Paralympic Committee, signing a four-year agreement to provide €1 million in financial and informational support. This partnership is focused on supporting athlete preparation, attracting new athletes, and promoting training camps, all while advancing the principles of inclusion through parasports. Read more

AmCham raises €7120 for charities in 2024

In 2024 we have raised €7120 benefitting our principal charities promoting the health and well-being of Latvia's children: Children's Hospital Foundation, Latvian Foster Family Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija and SOS Children’s Villages. Angels above Latvia will help 312 children across Latvia
|
|
Children's Hospital Foundation, an organization taking care of children's health through raising help from general public, is looking for donations to support campaign “Angels Above Latvia” in collaboration with TV3 Group Latvia and Bite Latvija. Each year, the campaign raises funds to help children take their first steps, say their first words, start school, or receive life-saving care in critical, time-sensitive situations. This year’s goal is to raise €634 000 to support 312 children in need. Read more

New parent support program for guidance and comfort
|
|
SOS Children’s Villages provides long-term family-based care for children who have lost their parents and supports vulnerable families in their family and foster family support centers in Riga, Bauska, Valmiera, Kuldīga and Gulbene. The organization is seeking both financial contributions and in-kind donations which will be directed towards preventive program ”For New Parents” offering emotional and informational support for new parents. Help build a new care mobile for better healthcare access
|
|
Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija (RMHC Latvija) in cooperation with the Children's Clinical University Hospital provides free medical consultations to children in rural areas of Latvia. 2025 will be a challenging year for RMHC Latvija's children's Care Mobile program with the construction of the new Care Mobile. EUR 300 000 are needed to realize this major project. Read more

Brighten Christmas for 326 foster kids
|
|
The Latvian Foster Family Association supports families that raise children who have been left without the care of their biological parents. 175 families of foster parents and guardians raise 326 children in various regions of Latvia. As every year, the Association holds campaign "Christmas Angels" and welcomes both financial and in-kind donations – Christmas gifts and treats for the New Year celebration on January 4. Read more
