Thanks to the support of AmCham members and many other donors SOS Childrens' Villages in Latvia have managed to complete several projects and activities this year.

Here are some of the activities they have accomplished:

• In spring children from SOS Villages jointly with Latvijas Valsts Mezi planted 6800 trees in Valmiera and Īslīce.
• Another green initiative was carried out at SOS Villages during the Big Clean Up when the SOS families cleaned and polished floors, windows and household appliances with the products generously provided by Amway Polska.
• Children in need from Valmiera SOS Children's Village received high quality eye treatment granted by the Latvian-American Eye Center and Latvian Center of Ophthalmology. Brand new flashy glasses the children have received is a major investment both in supporting their family budgets and helping raise their self-confidence.
• 4 children from Īslīce SOS Children's Village attended 3x3 Family camp in Nereta with financial support from Roedl & Partners.
• 4 active and sincere employees of E&Y have started a mentoring program for youngsters from Iecava SOS Youth Facility. Also, they have provided financial support to improve living conditions and environment at the youth facility.

Every single donation, whether financial or in-kind, is very valuable support to our villages in Valmiera and Īslīce, where our SOS moms are taking care of their children. We also thank you for the given opportunity to present our brand new video on our organization."
