25,000 Latvian children treated

Aug 25, 2017

RMHC Latvija is proud that by this time more than 25 thousand Latvian children have received free medical consultations from the doctors of Children's Clinical University Hospital of Latvia who are traveling with the Mobile Health Care Center (Care Mobile) all across the Latvia.

The 25th thousand patient was greeted in the March this year and it was little Daniel from Madona. Daniel's mom admitted that it was the fourth time she comes to doctors of the Care Mobile and expressed her gratitude for such an opportunity to receive free medical consultations and the great job done by the Care Mobile and doctors.

They are thankful to everyone who support them in our charity work thus helping to improve the health and wellbeing of Latvian children. Medical consultations are free of charge for the families, because all expenses are covered by our organization – RMHC Latvia, and one visit is estimated at 25 EUR. Every euro is donated by supporters of the charity – organizations and individuals, including Linstow, Neste Oil, Premier Restaurants Latvia, Volvo Trucks Latvija, DiatomArt, Diatom Enterprises, Olympic Casino Latvia, ATÜ Duty free, DnB Bank, KPMG, Klavins Ellex, International Women's Club of Riga, AmCham Latvia, RB Management, Coca-Cola HBC Latvia, The Oak Lounge, Merhels Revidenti Konsultanti, Radisson Blu Hotels in Latvia, USA Embassy, Grand Palace Hotel, Rotary Club of Riga International and many others.

RMHC Latvija`s main mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children, which also means to find and implement educational programs for the benefit of children. In the September 2016 lecturers from the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art of the University of Latvia started to implement educational program at Irlavas orphanage to provide support both for children and employees. The program was fully funded by International Woman’s Club of Riga and ziedo.lv (grants from Latvijas valsts meži) and ended at the end of June 2017.

The program with its two models - Support for positive behaviour and Development of social and emotional skills, succeeded and results show a great improvement in everyday life at the orphanage – better communication between employees and children, better skills to find solutions for the problems or conflicts, and improvement of general atmosphere at the Irlavas orphanage. Good results and feedback from the project encourages to implement program at other orphanages in the Year 2017/2018. If you are interested to support this project and provide funds, please contact RMHC Latvia.
