Members: CSR is an integral part of business development

AmCham members admit that CSR is an essential factor for the company development resulting in benefits such as customer loyalty, better risk management, improved financial performance and reputation. In members' opinion AmCham CSR activities contribute to more frequent contacts among membership that help build cooperation and partnership. The Human Development Award was mentioned by members as the most successful activity among recent CSR activities conducted by AmCham.

 Signe Lonerte, Head of Public Relations at Nordea Bank AB Latvia branch: "We generate new ideas when we follow CSR activities of other AmCham members, thus we can develop our own activities. When we see achievements of other members, we know where to focus and become more efficient in terms of our bank's CSR issues."

Agnese Birnbauma-Eglīte, Marketing Director of Skrivanek Baltic states: "One of the reasons why Skrivanek Baltic decided to join AmCham was the opportunity to explore and learn more about other companies, their expertise as well as significant were the core values of AmCham - integrity, responsibility, cooperation and excellence."

A recent BA graduate in the Management of International Communication from the Turiba University, Inese Karpovica, devoted her diploma thesis to exporing CSR as a factor of development in AmCham. In the thesis CSR principles, activities and strategies of AmCham member companies were analyzed to examine the importance of CSR in the development of AmCham and its member companies. The research was done by conducting interviews with 10 member companies as well as the management of AmCham. Inese served as an intern of AmCham at the beginning of 2015.
