1000 days later: support for Ukraine remains essential

1000 days on from Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine, AmChams in Europe remains steadfast in its support for the Ukrainian people. Since February 24, 2022, Ukraine has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Motivated by this resolve, governments on both sides of the Atlantic have been determined and united in supporting Ukraine and its people. The strength of this response is a testament to the power of transatlantic cooperation and public-private partnerships. 

AmCham members convened to discuss Empower Her initiative aimed at encouraging women’s economic empowerment. The group will focus on contributing to a more equitable and equal society by sharing best practices by female as well as male business representatives.

On November 14, the Healthcare work group convened to discuss its ongoing activities. The Value-based procurement sub-group leadership reported on the upcoming workshop. The group continues to work on digital health, secondary data legislation, and sustainable healthcare financing.

On November 13 members gathered for Meet AmCham, an annual member orientation event to get the latest updates about AmCham's priorities and build valuable connections.

On November 11 AmCham Digital and AI work group members met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cyberspace Security to discuss the harmonization of digital policy regulations.

John Tanzawa become an Individual member

Welcome John Tanzawa, a new Individual member. John is an experienced finance and strategy professional with a track record of over 20 years leading high-impact projects in consulting, operations, and financial management.

Annie Bea’s Chili team, represented by John Tully, Martin Tully, Laura Dabare and Peteris Priede made their Annie Bea’s Chili a winner at the 18th Annual Chili Cook-Off hosted by AmCham on October 30 at Wellton Riverside Hotel. The people’s choice award determined by the public vote also went to the Annie Bea’s Chili team.

On October 30 Pan-Baltic AmChams hosted an online briefing with White House Correspondent Jon Decker, diving into next week’s pivotal US Elections. Given his correct predictions on the outcome of the last two elections, Jon offered his final forecast on the upcoming Presidential election and his insights on possible implications.

Zero Tolerance Against Corruption

On October 24 the conference "Zero Tolerance Against Corruption" was held in Riga co-hosted by our members TI Latvia Delna and CSR Latvia, to advance the fight against corruption and promote responsible business practices. The event brought together business leaders and experts to discuss responsible business practices and the fight against corruption. The Zero Tolerance Against Corruption initiative aims to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in both the public and private sectors.

BluOr Bank donates €135 500 to Children's Hospital Foundation

AmCham member BluOr Bank donated €130,500 to the Children's Hospital Foundation to ensure modern vision examination for children using the latest generation of electrophysiology equipment.
